As usual, you can't trust published specs when it comes to 'max memory'. You need to dig in to see what the real limits are because they only publish the spec based on the largest modules that were available for testing at that time and usually don't update.

Pretty sure those letters are just new hardware revisions of the same device. Older versions might have some minor bugs that couldn't be fixed in the driver or possibly just more expensive to manufacture. (I also have an 'A' version.) Similarly, I have 1460, 1460A, and 1460D which are functionally t...

T14 is replacing the QHD display option with UHD. Not sure I'd like that; I'd probably need to run it at QHD resolution.

Some small NVMe cards not mentioned: WD/SANDISK SN520 (up to 512 GB and also available in 30mm size) and, most interesting, Toshiba/Kioxia BG4 30mm (RC100 is retail version of BG3) which supposedly supports NVMe x4 and up to 1 TB although only 512 GB seem available right now (not in retail channels ...

Sounds very much like a tool for only very experienced users right now.
First question I would ask is what does this do that ntLite doesn't do as well or at all? Haven't actually tried ntlite on Win10 yet but used it a lot for 7 (and nlite for XP previously).

Re: Nearly all ThinkPads have defective USB-C ports and bad Thunderbolts
Rather confused by Lenovo's references to specific Windows build versions. For T480 the firmware download page says "Windows 10 (Version 1809 or older)" so does that mean it's fixed already if you run a newer build or that the newer builds don't have a fix available yet? Similarly, the non-S version...

After some investigation and testing it does seem that the One Mix will charge off a basic 5V USB-C connection (no USB-PD) although very slowly and basically not at all if it's actually running. Only gets 10W that way where it can get 18W with USB-PD 9V or 30W with USB-PD 12V.

In T490/T590 you can NOT use the WWAN slot for a second SSD. That option was last seen in T480 and Lenovo has since killed it. Looks like Lenovo is turning out more fruitcakes than laptops... Most annoying thing is that almost no company seems to take advantage of the fact you can fit up to 4x M.2 ...

the nicest thing about the Surface 3 (but not any of the other Surface models) is that it can be charged using any micro USB charger, so when I travel I bring just the lightest charger that I own, plus a micro USB cable of course, and use it to charge both the Surface and my phone. Many laptops may...

Re: Memory type on T460: only DDR3 or also DDR4?
It is strange (and uncommon) that Lenovo would choose different RAM technologies for same-generation machines, but that's what we have. This also happened with Dell in 2008: Precision M4400 (and equivalent Latitudes) used DDR2 while M6400 used DDR3. Probably a marketing decision: X260 and M6400 cou...

You have the 2.5" x 9.5mm SATA drive bay and the M.2 2242 SATA slot. The M.2 slot can take a max 512 GB drive and unfortunately no top-tier brands make drives in that form factor. Best available is probably Transcend; slower than big names but probably not enough to notice. As dr_st said, a 1 TB 2.5...

The xx40 Thinkpads need the Transcend MTS400 Series drives, NOT the MTS420 Series, which have a RAID-engine. The MTS400 works there without problems, e.g. this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075P1JSGL/ref=twister_B07QHQ5QVF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I believe MTS420S has now been reported to work in T4...

New option now available: Transcend MT430S
Basically same as MT420S except it has DRAM cache, higher speed rating, and is available in 512GB capacity. Also seems to be lower cost (only $80 for 512GB on Amazon).

NGFF "Next Generation Form Factor" is just what they called the M.2 slot before it was standardized and some places still use it as a keyword for searches.

I don't have a 210 but as general advice you'd almost certainly never notice the memory latency difference in actual use. I'd avoid the Timetec/Dataram but Crucial should be fine.
If you can afford it and just want to know you have the fastest then sure get the HyperX.

Thinkpad 600, 600E, and 600X all use the same 440BX chipset so I'd expect any drive limits to be the same between them. I've had 12 GB drive in a 600E and 60 GB in a 600X with no problems.
