As indicated by the thread title I am looking for a T7200 Core2Duo CPU (having Intel S-spec number SL9SF, being the PGA/socket-version) to be used to upgrade my sisters T60. As she is presently away on vacation - for the coming two weeks - I have her T60 available for "service" during this period, so a fast deal (with rapid shipment to Copenhagen, Denmark) would be appreciated, so that she could have back the upgraded T60 when she returns from her holidays!

Please PM or e-mail me (to johan_granholm [at] yahoo [dot] dk) with offers... hopefully someone will make me an offer that I just can't refuse! 8)

PS: I'd prefer the T7200 over the (faster and more expensive) T7400 and/or T7600... the '7200 seems to be "the sweet spot", so only offers for T7200's, kindly.

Thanks in advance.

Johan

Hey Johan,

I might also be interested in a T7200 cpu also. Been thinking about upgrading my T60 (which I enjoy using) and the T7200 does seem to be the "sweet spot".

Good luck in finding one. :D

Ron

Kindly cool your jets a bit; take it easy and line up, cjmorisson; I absolutely believe it would be a good idea to show proper behaviour here... :!:

@ cjmorrison: As a newcomer to the Forum, having just signed up today, and, from your flurry of posts, seem to have gone on a posting frenzy today, I think you should take a moment and read the "Rules of the Road" so your time on the Forum may be more beneficial to yourself and to others: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14339 These are the Official Rules established by the Forum Administrator to govern this Forum.

I read some of your other posts also... and while your zeal and enthusiasm are most welcome, try to read the entire thread and other posts before posting a quick reply. In this case, this is a WTB (Want to Buy) thread posted by a Forum Member who is looking for a T7200 CPU. If someone replies to this thread offering the item he is seeking it is not proper at all for you to post a reply asking the member who responded to sell it to you. That would also include contacting that member by PM (Private Message) or email. The OP (Original Poster) gets first consideration and privilege. If upon reading this thread, you realize you could use a T7200 CPU yourself, then you are most welcome to post your own WTB thread in our Marketplace: viewforum.php?f=11

Perhaps you did not realize these things, so I am posting this in a friendly way to help you and welcome you to our Forum.

Have a good day,
Daniel.

I have some T7200 CPU chips, pulled from fully working corporate laptops... don't compare to the ones coming from chinese part strippers that come from dead, smashed, abused or even burned laptops.

They are respectfully offered @ $40 each. Staff members have preference because they volunteer their time to make our forum possible, but if there are any left, anyone is welcome to them.

Shipping is $6 domestic with tracking in a proper box... no envelopes or bent pins here.

found it, Johan! 8)

it's a tp pull (fru 41W1411) that i got from Harryc a while back. it looks to be perfect, no bent pins, shiny cpu die-top, no nasty leftover thermal compound. i used it for awhile in my t60p (see sig) until i found a t7600.

looks like they're being offered on fleabay for about $35+shipping. how about your, special tpf-moderator/help-everyone price is $20+shipping, but i'll need your assistance with international shipping as i have no experience with that.

feel free to take the discussion to pm if you want to proceed.

cheers!

ps... thanks, everyone for your support in this thread. tpf is the best!

What a great deal, and I'd be glad to help you with the shipping. I'll send you a PM with details

Great, wonderful news - and such a fantastic friendly offer; I'm all blushing! I would absolutely be happy to give your T7200 a new home, so to cut to conclusions we have a deal! :thumbs-UP: I just sent you a PM.

Thanks to all the rest of you, for your kind support and for offering me competing T7200's - and as you already know, you have several other customers lined up, so go ahead, and make some business!

PS: This upgrade constitutes the "Speed up the Ladies in your life" project that I'm in the midst of right now: I'm about to put a very fast SSD in my Mother's T42 (although she is now 83 YO, she would still like to have her T42 to be a little more speedy!), and I'm doing the same to a girlfriend's T42, and now the third upgrade is to my sisters T60; I am really going to speed up all of these Ladies a bit! :-)

Johan

I agree, this is one of those deals you should never pass up. I can't buy them for that price, in fact I get all my CPU chips from complete working systems which are usually sourced to fill orders for system boards. This results in the best most reliable source for chips, but it's not the cheapest way to get them. Most cheap chips are a bad investment though, like if you were to compare a $35 ebay chip that was pulled out of an abused/smashed or dead laptop compared to a $40 chip pulled from a complete working system, you'd be crazy to buy the ebay chip, but in this case the chip is coming from a forum member who has shared it's history, where it came from, and a credible reason it was pulled from service, so you're getting this chip for 1/3 to 1/2 it's market value.
