My next purchase has been a Samsung 810 mSATA 128GB SSD from a fellow forum member, identical (at least from what I can tell) to this one. A review of the aforementioned drive can be found here.
Where's the catch, you may ask and rightfully so: My intent was to "update" the old A31p in my signature with this combo...but I've missed on the results of the research that automobus had done in regards to the inability of older ThinkPads to *properly* recognize SATA drives...read on here. So yeah, a fresh, properly-aligned install of W7 returned sequential reads of ca. 35 Mb... ...back to the old Seagate 7200rpm PATA HDD on that one...
Just to make sure that there's nothing wrong with the setup itself, I installed it in my sickly T42p, and boom...all of a sudden the speed just about tripled...
With that said, I really have no use for this combo right now, since my A31p won't play nice with it and the T42p is living on borrowed time...lesson learned, I guess.Sequential Read : 91.125 MB/s
