I have a T40 with the ATI 7500 Radeon GPU. I've installed the latest ATI driver from the Lenovo site, as well as the ThinkPad monitor INF file.

My OS is Window XP SP3. I right click on the Desktop, and go into the advanced display properties. On the Monitor tab, my choices are two instances of Default Monitor, Generic Television, and the IBM ThinkPad 1024x768 LCD. I can't select the IBM. If I click on it, the Apply button is still grayed out.

I've tried disabling the unwanted monitors in Device Manager, and made sure that the ATI driver knows it has only one monitor and that is the "Panel".

How could I have two Default Monitors?

More importantly, how do I get the ATI driver to behave itself and recognize the standard ThinkPad LCD?

Thanks!

I can't imagine owning anything but a ThinkPad, thanks to the gurus of this forum!
