Will a 9-cell battery from a T60 work in my T42?

Thanks.

Hello fellow ThinkPadder!

There are several reasons why it should not work:

Physically it will not fit (by the looks of pictures I've googled).
The T/X 60+ series use a 90W A/C Adapter.

Hope I helped.

In short, no. Although they look the same, they are not. The fact that the new machines use a different voltage (16v vs. 20v) adapter may or may not have anything to do with it. Suffice to say that Lenovo has seen fit to change how the battery fits.

I examined the R60 that my school issues and compared it to the R52 that we have at home to see. Definitely, no go.

I was pretty sure the answer was 'no', but it doesn't hurt to ask.
