I try to get Access Connections 3.21 to configure my Intel High Rate Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Adapter WLAN connections on my TP T30 with static 128 bit WEP key. Whenever Access Connections tries to connect to the access point it fails and just shows a WEP key error in the status window. I have entered the WEP key correctly, though. I even tried to remove Access Connections and the WLAN adapter driver and reinstalled both including reboots in between and creating new profiles, but in vain.

However, when I use the Microsoft WLAN configuration (let Windows configure the wireless settings) enter the WEP key there, I immediately get a working connection. Even Access Connections in the status window shows a proper association with the access point. But whenever I change the profile later or reboot, Access Connections turns off the windows configuration again and tries to do it and fails... For this reason, for me it seems as if AC has problems configuring the WEP key in the driver while the WZC does not have a problem with that.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this and get this properly running?

Gerald

Exact same setup is working fine for me with access connections 3.21 (and also 2.7/3.0 which i used previously) connecting to a dlink router - if you still have windows zero config enabled (the 'Use windows to configure my wireless network' option) you should have that disabled for access connections to work properly.

Access Connections turns WZC off when it reconfigures the connection. But then it has the WEP key error. Access Connections accepts the association established when WZC is turn and only then I get an connection. (I basically have to turn WZC on to get the connection to the access point working...)

I agree wtih snife: I'm in the same setup and have no problems with the same card and access connections on my T30.

Can you disable the WEP key and make sure that works? How about changing the key?

I disabled WEP on the access point and in access connections and tried to connect: nothing, still the status has the same WEP key error. Then I turn on WZC and configure the network in windows to connect without encryption: 5 seconds after OK I have the connection with correct IP address and immediatly access connections shows the profile as working...

Do you have open or shared authentication?
