Anybody changed a fan on the T 42 heatsink ?
I should be able to remove the rivets but can't figure how to attach the new one.
Is there a source for some small self tapping screws or nuts and bolts ?

Thanks lots

At today's prices of complete T42 heatsinks, why bother?

My $0.02 only...

Do you need a "long" or a "short" fan for that T42?

I am the original poster parangles - my account was closed due to inactivity.
Strange how I was allowed to make two posts but then closed.

adjkula66- thanks for the implied offer- appreciated.

GACrabill- drilling out the head of the rivet and refitting the
stub with crazy glue sounds very quick and workable.

Cheers

The OP changed email address in the account profile and that triggered an automatic deactivation. The system should have sent a reactivation request to the new email address.

Strange how changing ones email address (a common need nowadays,
anticipated by the boards admin, and with strict alpha numeric, caps/low case
password requirements) could trigger someone to be kicked off the board.
Thanks for all your help in the past and hopefully more in the future :-))

To separate the heatsink from the fan housing, I had good luck with wedging a flat-head screwdriver between them. I found this thread http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=437021# on another forum useful -- mainly because of the pictures (but you'll have to register at that forum to see them).
