T410 in black & white

#1 Post by enosdan » Thu Jun 18, 2015 2:01 pm

Today a colleague surprised me with a black & white shot of his T410.
I found it quite artistic so I though I'd share it with you guys.

Image

The lack of colour does not make a lot of difference for the subject ;-)

No offense meant, but I fail to see where the "artistic" comes in...

The "ThinkPad" logo makes all photos artistic

A black and white photo of a black and white subject...
The legendary keyboard in the background...
A vintage shot of a technological item that is both modern and old depending on the context...
The Thinkpad logo both in center and in focus, around which everything revolves...

Still you feel nothing? :-)

So just because it doesn't appeal to you, does it mean it's not artistic?

Nice pic of the T410. I own one myself and rather enjoy it.

@RBS: The wiki link you posted about the 1401 in the other thread has some great info. I feel I was born 30 years too late. I would have loved to work with that gear. To me those are real computers. By no means anywhere near as fast as the server racks I work with, but they seem to have more 'soul' to them than any rack I have touched.

I got to play with some cool IBM gear when I was in the Navy. Stuff from the 70's. Note as vintage, but cool nonetheless.
