The SVGA X20's display is more off-centered than the XGA X20's, so my guess is yours is the former. Lower res, but the thinner display lid makes the laptop prettier.

i've seen worse mess's on larger boats..
(both of mine) and especially when "at sea"..

you get in rough water and everything not tied down goes flying..

BUT, on one of my boats, a 65' irwin cutter rig ketch, i had a laserjet-II (current at that time) sitting above the nav station..
it never moved in the roughest weather or at a heel where there was blue water outside the portholes (closed, obviously!)..
reason was the feet were very "sticky"..
