Try eBay for a Parts/Repair/As-Is T23 mobo.

I came across this while working on my T30. Maybe you have already fixed yours. The IC on the board is TPC8203, but the Fairchild FDS6990A is the same and is available from DigiKey and Newark.
How did you determine that it was burnt out? I am afraid to run the charger with the board out of the case.

The ic had blown its top! The original pictures i posted have long gone which showed the ic fried. I replaced the ic from a dead motherboard that came my way from a bulk load of laptop parts i bought a while back. It was successfully repaired and the laptop sold.

Why be fearful of running the motherboard outside the case of the laptop for testing purposes!! That doesn't make sense to me as it saves a lot of time particularly if there is more than one issue with the motherboard that you haven't identified. What you frightened of? just insulate everything from any metal contact with the board ie paper cardboard plastic its not rocket science....

Crikey this was a while since the original post!

I replaced U42 (ADP3806) and Q4 (FDS6990A). I used the Fairchild FDS6990A part for Q4 and got the ADP3806 from a parts supplied in Hong Kong. The price for the AD part was only about $4.00 each and the Fairchild part came from Mouser Electronics. The battery charger works fine now.
