Just a quickie, on my T21 there are 2 red buttons, the left and right click (how's that for a technical description?) below them is a wide blue button. What is the blue button for? It never seemed to do anything and now I've fitted a new hard drive I 've lost the small Thinkpad partition. I don't know if there was any help in there, but I never found any. So, what's the blue button do, and is it worth downloading any Thinkpad software (for Thinkpad button, pc doctor, etc?)
Thanks for reading

By default the middle mouse button is just that, a middle mouse button, which in Linux is used for the Paste operation. But you can configure it to do just about anything. I use mine as a "scroll wheel".

If you are using Windows, I think you will need the TrackPoint driver and the TrackPoint Accessibility driver for Windows from the Lenovo Support download site.

I once lost my IBM Service partition (containing Windows XP install programs) during a fresh Windows XP install using my IBM T30 Recovery CD(s).

If you have intialized your new HD properly, you will see the message...

"Reinstall Product Recovery Program into hidden area (hidden partition) 1.7 GB?"

If you do not re-intialize HD with DOS FDisk or Win XP Disk Management Utility, you will never see the message.
