T30 interfering the Internet wireless signal

#1 Post by dragon » Sat May 09, 2009 5:44 am

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 I know works fine with wireless.

Once I switch on the T30, it interferes with the wireless signal, the Dell 1520 stops receiving wireless signal.

What do I have to do on the T30 to stop it interfering the wireless signal? There is no wireless card in the T30.

Never heard of such a thing. Are you sure the T30 doesn't have a factory 802.11b card tucked into its underbelly?

Kind of a shot in the dark here, as I'm hardly an expert, but in your place I might try setting the router or AP to a different frequency, and letting the Dell rediscover it.

Positive there is no 802.11 card and there are two wires I believe is the aerial not connected.

I discovered the T21 is also causing this problem.

Check if there is a microwave in the vicinity. Unplug it for testing's sake.
Also remove any cordless phones from that room to see if they interfere.
And my best suggestion: get rid of that Dell, that's really no company for a self-respecting Thinkpad!

But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!
