T61P Win10 Intel 4965AGN blue screens

#1 Post by zephxiii » Mon Nov 21, 2016 7:46 pm

I'm getting driver IRQL not less or equal crashes for file netwlv32.sys.

driver is 10/7/2010 13.4.0.139

Is there a newer driver I can use? Or is this adapter trash and I need a new one?

Welll apparently this network card has problems across the board (other laptops) in Win10 as there were quite a lot of posts about it. One suggestion was to run an older driver from here
http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/IndexDown ... B9EE06A910

so i'm going to give that a shot.

I've had at least 2-3 crashes in just a few hours today with the 2010 driver.

After creating a System Restore point, try installing and using IoBit's free 'Driver Booster' (http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details ... oster.html). It may find newer Win10 drivers for your wireless card as well as newer drivers for many of the other devices in your laptop.

although this driver has been stable as far as blue screens go, I still have to fiddle with disable/enable or reboot to get it to function. As a result I'm going to shop a different adapter.

Is the Atheros 9380 the way to go for Windows 10?

My take is that AR9380 is the way to go when compared with 4965AGN regardless of the OS. I haven't used W10 for long enough to detect any issues with the Atheros card so YMMV in that respect.
