Weirdo - 0192 error showing up just time to time

#1 Post by wujstefan » Thu Dec 22, 2016 12:14 pm

... or actually once so far only.

I've built a nice R61f for my father-in-law. New-Out-Of-The-Box unit modified with SHARP UXGA, Middleton BIOS, T9300 CPU, 8Gigs and 240Gb SSD works like a charm. However, I just got a photo from him showing error 0192 - Embedded Security Hardware Tamper Detected. However, after restarting the system everything works fine so far. What the heck should it be?
Too many thinkpads not enough time!

Remove any passwords in there, then disable the security chip in BIOS.
Also check that the CMOS-battery has enough oomph.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
