Hi,
as T60p (UXGA) with ATi Card and Core2Duo are hard to find, I bought a T60p with UXGA and T2500 CoreDuo Processor. AFAIK this Motherboard should be capable to be equipped with the Core2Duo T7200/T7400 or T7600 processor, but do I get same performance as on the "original Core2Duo equipped" T60p or would this require a complete motherboard change? (I know the better way would be to get a T60p Core2Duo with 15" Display and install an UXGA panel.)

Thanks, Carlhermann

If you're asking if the T60p can be upgraded with a Core2Duo processor, then the answer is Yes. I've done it to my T60p. The performance difference isn't that great compared with the CoreDuo; the only reason I upgraded is because I'm doing 64-bit software development, which requirs the Core2Duo.

You can do CPU upgrade if your motherboard is revision 3 or higher. User CPUID to check the revision.

Good point. But I've never seen one that wasn't rev 3. I got one of the very first T60p machines out of production, and it was already rev 3.

I've seen one. It was one of the early T60s (not a 'p' model) that I got through my university. You're right though, rev. 2 are very rare, which is actually a good thing!
