Hi
I'm building a collection of IBM era ThinkPad's and I really want to get them all back to the original preload. I have just acquired a working ThinkPad X1 Tablet and need to get a set of recovery CDs so I can get the XP Tablet PC Edition reloaded. Does anyone have a set of recovery CDs please?
Thanks
Wayne

X41 Tablet Recovery CDs (XP Tablet PC Edition)

Re: X41 Tablet Recovery CDs (XP Tablet PC Edition)
Hi Wayne.
I don't have a "True Blue" IBM X41T Recovery CD, but I do have a WinXP SP3 Tablet ISO that, with a bit of tinkering, works very well.
I have a zip file with all of the IBM drivers for the X41T as well, or you can download them here:
https://thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad- ... /X41t.html
Between the ISO and the downloads, you can end up with the stock system...although possibly the original X41T XP Tablet edition was only Service Pack 2?...Not sure on that...
Also if you require, I can include a copy of the "TTAV134 BIOS Update" which incorporates SLIC 2.1, and cures both the no-1802 and no-2010 errors....although if you are trying to keep the machine completely stock, may not comply with your intended purpose.
I have two of these little X41T beauties, complete with the original IBM leather & plastic-front-see-through carrying cases. Tried all kinds of operating systems & have done a few mods with them, including switching one over to an IDE adapter/Samsung mSata hard drive, which "comparatively" flies (although still a bit constrained by the 1.5 Gb memory limit.) Still have a NOS sealed Hitachi 60 Gb hard drive in case I ever want to take it back to stock.
If you don't find an original IBM Recovery set let me know and I'll upload my files somewhere for download.
Regards.
Dave
P.S. Also have Win 7-x32 and Android builds available for the X41T, in case you want to upgrade later.

Hi BlueProfile,
You'll find the X41T recovery CD in my archive.org uploads. Be aware that it might contains only the French language so you may have to bear with that during the setup and switching to English by installing a dedicated English MUI pack afterwards (if that's possible on XP Tablet Edition, I never tried). Don't hesitate to post back your results here !

Jonas
