Original lenovo batteries are very expensive. Can anyone suggest/recommend a decent after market battery?

thanks

I personally have had good luck with aftermarket batteries. But mine have come from a local computer shop that sells a lot of aftermarket batteries.

All with the same brand name on them too. iCan is the name.

I have one in my T60 and my T40. My 6 cell in my T40 was $46 and the 9 cell in my T60 was $70.

Hit or miss. Just be careful, don't go too cheap.

I suggest:

a) Posting a WTB ad in the forum's Marketplace

b) Checking Lenovo's Outlet several times a day...

http://outlet.lenovo.com/accessories/batteries.html

Every single battery that I ever bought from Outlet came with 0 cycles regardless of description, looked and performed like a brand new one should. YMMV.

My personal experience with aftermarket batteries was nothing short of atrocious. I'd *never* buy one again. Once again, YMMV.

I bought a genuine Lenova battery from an ebay seller who sold "returns". About a third of the price.

Got a 9 cell new battery which is for T60 or T61s on Ebay for $35.
Just have to uncheck messages from Lenovo telling you that it might RUIN YOUR LAPTOP.

I bought one almost a year ago from "depot-battery" (ebay seller) for $18.80 (plus shipping). The plastic cover is pretty weak, one of the corners gave in after a week or two - so I put some duct tape on it, now it has that hard-core look :) Otherwise it's fine.
I've had some bad experience with a battery I bought from a local dealer for my X41 5 years ago, but since then I bought a couple off ebay and they worked fine.
