Post subject: Strange Performance issues on T61 With Kalyway 10.5.4

I have a nearly perfect installation on my T61 using Kalyway 10.5.2 then updated to .3 then .4. Ever since installing off of the dvd I get half the performance when my thinkpad is booted directly off battery. Even if I boot with the AC plugged in them remove it; it will run at full speed. Has anyone else had this experience? Is there some boot option that overrides this? Also, I don't have sleep working, but that's not a huge deal. Thanks for any help.

Just wanted to state that I found a solution. I downloaded a program called coolbook (http://www.coolbook.se/CoolBook.html) which worked fine after loading the macbook smbios.kext. It allows you to set predetermined clock speeds/voltages, and max temps. After downloading the trial I realized it was stuck on a speed of 800MHz when booted off battery. This fixed that. This also made the laptop much cooler by enabling different speeds. Was well worth the 10$.

So what does not work as a part of your Kalyway install?

sleep(just instantly wakes from sleep), line in/out using the laptop (got a usb stick to do it), and the lan (but I got the usb to ethernet). Another little gripe is that I can't clone my desktop onto another screen, but I can use extended desktops. I recently downloaded the fingerprint scanner utility posted somewhere on this forum, and it works really well. It is neat that you can just swipe your finger instead of using your admin password whenever you're prompted for it. I haven't tried the card reader, but I'm sure it doesn't work...I don't really care much about it. I've made it my standalone OS on this laptop (along with xp in parallels), and everything has been extremely stable. I'm really happy with it.
