I had a 2-monitor setup working with the X200+Ultrabase. I changed to a different monitor connected to the displayport output of the ultrabase, and now that monitor does not work.
This is the setup:
Displayport --> displayport to hdmi adapter -->hdmi to dvi cable --> NEC 19" LCD / new monitor
VGA port --> 2nd NEC 19" LCD
It worked without any special configuration before the switch. I had an extended desktop across both monitors.
With the new monitor, on boot, I get the BIOS and windows loading screens on the new monitor. At some point, the signal drops, and I only have the VGA port monitor after windows is loaded. Looking at the Intel control panel, there is no sign that the other monitor exists.
If I disconnect the VGA monitor, there is no change.
The laptop runs windows 7, fyi, with the intel integrated graphics.
Any ideas about what is going on here?
Thanks!

X200 + ultrabase problems with new monitor
Re: X200 + ultrabase problems with new monitor
Some driver voodoo thing is going one, since the monitor works during the pre-boot environment.
What was the previous monitor and how was it connected? The same chain of cables/adapters?

Re: X200 + ultrabase problems with new monitor
The previous monitor worked with no special magic, using the same chain of adapters. Just plugged it in, and it worked from the start.
The previous monitor is a NEC LCD29V2, with optimal resolution of 1280x1024
The "new" monitor is a Viewsonic VX2235WM, at 1680x1050.

Try them the other way around for a bit.
