Intel 2.5" SSD in X200S - any issues?

#1 Post by Escap3 » Mon Oct 19, 2009 6:41 pm

Want to replace my 2.5" 7,200rpm Hitachi HDD with Intel G2 2.5" 80GB SSD - is it a direct drop in?
I know Lenovo uses 1.8" SSD drives in this model for wahtever reason. Thanks in advance!

Direct drop in. You'll need to get some rubber rails to keep it from rattling around, but that's $10 or less.

Couldn't you use the old ones?

ProBook 470 G5 - 1.6GHz Core i5 | 16GB | 2.2TB | 17" FHD | Mint

You sure can. They peel right off the side of the caddy (which you'll also need to use), and definitely can be re-used.
