X220 IPS Screen brighter pixel spot

#1 Post by iamdmc » Mon Sep 26, 2011 3:17 pm

My IPS screen just developed a small, probably 1 pixel square bright spot.

Is this kind of thing covered under warranty?

Stuck pixel? Some people were using quick flashes of multiple colors to fix stuck pixels, I am not sure if that still works. Generally manufacturer needs more than few pixels to consider it defective. And if it is really 1 pixel in a 12" display, I doubt it would really bother you, are you sure it is not block of 4 pixels or something?
White is stuck pixel, black is dead pixel, afaik... you can also try gently wiping the screen.

It's not a stuck pixel (ie it displays all of the colors tha the other pixels do) or a dead pixel (ie it lights up). It's a pixel, or perhaps a square of 9 pixels, that are visibly brighter than any of the other pixels on the screen.

Would this be covered under warranty?

That's a strange one. Sorry I am not sure how that would be classified by Lenovo.
