Are the 14.1" T61 (widescreen) panels swappable with the T400 panels? I'm talking about the whole panel .. not just the LCD.
Also, can I swap a panel with a camera in the place of one that doesn't have a camera and expect everything to work correctly? Again, swapping the whole panel and not just the LCD.
Thanks.
Bob

I'm not sure about your termonology. The LCD is the panel. (the flat thing inside the screen assembly where the cable attaches) The assembly cannot be swapped. The motherboard connector on the T400 is wider. If you wish to move an LCD panel, they are the same unless the T400 has an LCD backpight, then they are entirely different, physically and electrically. If you want to add a camera on either model, you need to change the cable and the screen bezel plus get the camera module.

Thanks, Rich. I was referring to the lid with LCD inside when I said panel.
So a swap involves exchanging the cable as well as the LCD, providing it's not a back-lit LCD (which can't be done).
On adding a camera, where is the camera module? Is inside the lid at the top?
Bob

Thanks Harry. Helpful answers (as usual).

Hi, I was also thinking about display swapping... but with an T410. Are they also compatible with T61 14,1" wide?
Well I'd prefer to keep the original Lid because of the "T61" in the bottom right corner :D
And how about the camera?
Can I take the camera out of the T410 lid an stick in in the hole of mine? (Hey what are you thinking?? I'm talking 'bout my T61... :-P)

T410 panels are entirely different. Different panel, different cable, different lid. I believe the cameras are different, but I don't have one to look at
