Just got a new T420 and I want to dual boot Ubuntu with provided Win7. I also want to clean up installed programs. I know which software I want and which I don't but confused about some intel and lenovo installed drivers/software.

My Configuration is as followed
    Intel Core i5-2450M Processor (3M Cache, 2.50GHz)
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
    14.0" HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Backlit AntiGlare Display
Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor graphics with dynamic frequency
    6 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
UltraNav multi-touch touchpad & TrackPoint with Fingerprint Reader
    720p HD Camera with Microphone
    320GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
    DVD Recordable
Express Card Slot, 4-in-1 Card Reader
    Lithium Ion 9-cell Battery
65W AC Adapter - North America, Latin America (2pin)
    Bluetooth 3.0 wireless
Integrated WiFi wireless LAN adapters : Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN

Installed Programs : http://i.imgur.com/QSqGP.png
I am most confused about (* is used as a wild card i.e Lenovo* indicates all installed programs that starts with 'Lenovo')
    Integrated Camara*
    Intel*
    Lenovo* (too many of these)
    Rapidboot
    SystemUpdate
    Think*
    VanDyke*
    VIP Access

From my knowledge, I am guessing other than Intel Wifi Driver and Intel HD Graphics driver, other Intel* are unnecessary?
All Lenovo* except Lenovo Registration is useless?

Reg Dual boot, I need to create a new partion. Currently, it has only a system partition and a lenovo recovery partition. I can just 'shrink the size' (using windows default disk defrag tool) of system partition which will create unallocated space and then go to business of installing Ubuntu, right?

Thanks in advance, for all your time.
