Does the SL410 have SATA II/3.0 Gbps?

#1 Post by DiGiTY » Wed Jan 16, 2013 4:48 pm

I'm upgrading to SSD for my SL410 (2842-FBU, bought from Best Buy in 1/10) and when I pulled out the original hard drive I see there's a factory sticker indicating the drive is SATA I/1.5 Gbps. But when I look up the model number of the hard drive itself (Fujitsu MJA2500BH-G2) it say its SATA II/3.0 Gbps. Needless to say I'm now confused. Is the laptop's controller SATA I or SATA II?

Not sure what specs the controller have. With that said buy a sata III ssd. They are backward compatible and can be re-purposed in another machine when the time comes to get a new laptop. Doing just that in my L412. Working fine.
T40p- 60gb ssd, 2gb ram,2.0gHz Dothan, Win XPpro
X41t- 40gb hdd, 2gb ram, 1.6gHz, Android 4.0.3 ICS
L412- i3, 256gb SSD, 8gb ram, Win7 x64
760C - cmos battery code issues

I did get a SATA III SSD and the controller is SATA II (I'm getting 250+ MBps sequential read & write).
