A check of my laptop's storage capacity shows almost full (less than 7 GB available for use), but I have streamlined all data and programs that I know of.
I have a 70 GB capacity hard drive (preload C:) with My Docs showing 7.5 GB in size; Docs &
Settings listed as 9.7 GB; WINDOWS as 4.6 GB; Program Files at 4.5 GB, approx totally 27 GB. All of my photos, music, videos are stored in Documents and Settings. Where has the rest of my disk space gone?
My only thought was all the Backups I do through the ThinkVantage Productivity Centre are sitting somewhere taking up space until needed, but I've no idea how to reach them to delete/clean-out some really old backups.
I've deleted Temporary Internet caches, emptied the Recycle Bin, but still, no space regenerated.
Please advise. I can't understand how I am using all of this space while only a personal user.
Narelle.

R60 Lenovo Thinkpad - Where has all my disk space gone?

Windows 3.1 has probably hidden a lot of details on you. ... JDH
Re: R60 Lenovo Thinkpad - Where has all my disk space gone?
Normally you can delete backups in the R&R program. If that doesn't work, in Safe Mode open and look at the (hidden) files and folders in C:\RRbackups. Delete any large older backup files you do not want. Note that you have to have everything unhid in Folder Options to see the directory.

HarryC...you are brilliant!!
Well, to a techdeficient like me you are, anyway. I followed your simple instructions and got rid of a couple of backups and I've got **50%** of my disk space back again. Woo ooo!
Thank you so much. I'll watch for that happening again next time.
