What motherboard My R61i has ?

#1 Post by Masi_K » Sun Aug 07, 2016 2:03 am

Hello.
Basic stuff. What is fastest cpu to my R61i unit? There is no fru sticker under memory modules. I found printed numer on the bottom cover 42w3859. I'm guessing this laptop has an merom?

Nowadays t9xxx with slower fsb are dirt cheap and I could possible use more cpu speed.

Yours is a Merom board with a 533MHz CPU.
With Middleton's BIOS you can first try 800MHz CPUs like T7100/T7300/T7500/T7700 before you go for Penryn.
If they run, then get a Penryn T9300.
