X1-Carbon Gen-1 question about Intel 240GB SSD: SSDSCMMW240A3L
This is about an Intel SSD SSDSCMMW240A3L as used in X1 Carbon Gen-1,
a.k.a. SSD 240GB FDE 3.7mmH Intel SFF Cherry Crest-240 FDE.
Can someone please tell me exactly which grey rectangular inductor sits at position L3 under the arrow?
Any markings on that inductor?
And I'd be even more pleased if someone could take a very detailed macro/close-up picture for me of the area in the red circle.
Thanks!

@Brad:
Got your picture, thanks!
Maybe someone else can check to see if their inductor has any markings?

Is the SSDSCMMW240A3L compatible with thinkpad X1 1st gen. without any adapter?
Is anyone using it with success?

Yes, that SSD plugs right into (and is ONLY for) X1 Carbon Gen-1, without the need for an adapter.
There are adapters available, in which you can put an "ordinary" mSATA SSD, such as this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261773739647

Re: X1-Carbon Gen-1 question about Intel 240GB SSD: SSDSCMMW240A3L
Hi, thanks for the quick reply
My laptop P/N is 3460-82G.
I am ready confused if that adapter would be compatible as it is described on the ebay link:
"NOTE : New versions of Levono X1 can use M.2/NGFF SSD instead of 20+6Pin SSD. Please review whether you SSD is a 20+6 Pin unit or a M.2/NGFF SSD. If it is M.2/NGFF this unit is not made for your device. "
How can I know which is the SSD connector used on my laptop? Do I need to open?
It is a 1st gen X1.
Will the adaptor + a new SSDf fit properly under the keyboard? any experience there?
Thanks to all.

It would help next time, if you also give us the link to such an eBay adapter.
We can't just guess/judge from only a description!
X1C Gen-1 MUST use either an SSD or an adapter with the 20pin-6pin connector as shown in the picture in the first post.
Also see your own other post in this sub-Forum.
