X1CG7 Touch not recgnising cloned SSD

#1 Post by mjkalba » Fri Oct 06, 2023 5:27 am

I have an X1 Carbon Touch Gen 7. I have used Macrium Reflect to clone my working 1TB SSD to a 2TB SSD. When I install the new drive the system will not boot, and I get a “Required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed” error nessage, with error code 0xc0000225.

I have tried fixing it with a Windows 11 recovery USB drive but to no avail.

Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so what was the fix.

Thanks (hopefully) in advance.

I had problems when I cloned my P71's SSD to another SSD. I believe you will need to repair the EFI bootloader.

I used these instructions.
