FP Reader and Win8 a no go?

Hello all,

I just discovered this awesome site.

I have Win 8 RP installed on an x61 (7674WHL) and I am having trouble getting the Fingerprint reader to work.

Do any of you long time ThinkPadders know of a fix or workaround?

Look in Windows 8 RP Control Panel Biometric Devices and see if that works. I got some functionality with that but could not get Lenovo ThinkVantage Fingerprint software to work.

I've had no luck with the Lenovo software, but configuring via control panel works great on my X200s, I haven't had a chance to upgrade my X61T yet.

Works like a charm on my T420. It's a shame I have to select biometric authentication by using the mouse first.
Using the standard Windows software from control panel.
