Audio driver driving me nuts!

#1 Post by sktn77a » Tue Jan 31, 2017 11:11 am

OK, I have 4 Thinkpad T430 computers. Having a problem with the audio driver on two of them (but not the other two). All are using Windows 7 SP1. Two of them keep losing the audio. I uninstall the driver, turn the computer back on and it reinstalls the driver and the audio comes back (this took weeks to figure out)?! Any ideas?

If yours have Intel graphics only, try installing the Intel Display Driver from Lenovo, AFAIK it also includes an Audio driver.

OK, thanks. I have the Intel driver installed already but I'll try that (its the realtek driver that I have been uninstalling and reinstalling).

Still having an issue with this. I keep losing the audio - have to uninstall the audio driver and then reinstall it. No evidence of any other driver overwriting it, although I think that must be the issue (thank you, windows update). Anybody else having this issue?

Make a batch script to uninstall and reinstall on shutdown/startup?? :-)

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
