#1 Post by edwardsjethro » Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:01 am

Old original hardware.. even windows 7

Stopped working, red light just keeps blinking. Pulled the battery, un plugged.. did the power button pushing trick.. didn’t work..

Red light just blinks, fan is running, no screen action..zilch..

This unit has an ssd mSata has the booting and operating stuff, should I try replacing that? Good idea? Can’t be a power supply correct? It has a flat disc to...

Thanks for any input or ideas.

Admin note: changed title from T420u to T430u.

Never even heard of a T420u!
And AFAIK there are no manuals for that either.
And I could not find it in the withdrawn PSREF either...

Anyway, remove the HDD/SSD and the RAM, try to boot, does it now beep 1-3-3-1?
If not, you may have a serious motherboard problem.

Completely new to me also, but the machine type says it's a T430u, not a T420u:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/prod ... /downloads

And PSRef:

https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PD ... _T430u.pdf

And the user guide:

https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/p ... _ug_en.pdf

The "u" seems to mean Ultrabook.

It must indeed be a T430u, where the "u" probably stands for Ultrabook.
