Couple X240 quesitons -- charge thresholds, 16GB RAM, new trackpad

#1 Post by pipspeak » Fri Oct 09, 2015 9:51 am

This may have been covered before. If so, please point me in the direction of the threads.

Firstly, is there any software or a reliable registry hack that will implement charging thresholds for both batteries in an X240? I use Power Manager from Thinkutils on my T440p, but that only have one battery (and Thinkutils is no more).

Secondly, are 16GB SODIMM sticks supported in the x240 yet?

And finally, does anyone have a good recommendation for a reseller of X250-style trackpads? All the ebay ones seem to be non-OEM, which makes me wonder how good their quality and reliability will be. I'm not a big buttonless-trackpad hater, but I would prefer the buttons (plus a better quality touchpad surface) and it looks like a fairly simple replacement.

Thanks.

Sadly no. All Haswell ThinkPads don´t support 16 GB RAMM SODIMMs, and I doubt they ever will do.

This is one of the advantages the X250 has over the X240.
