got my W530 home today. It was in mint condition and came with the 2.7ghz quad core cpu, 8gb of 1600mhz ram, 500gb drive and..... not working power supply (which was cosmetically great also).

I have contacted the seller already regarding this, but i'm still curious: do the power bricks contain any fuse inside? I measured the tip of the cable going into the back of the W530 and there was no voltage whatsoever coming out of the power supply.

There's a fuse inside most laptop chargers/AC adapters, usually rated for 240v maybe 2 or so amps (can't remember exactly :? ), but it's soldered to the circuit board rather than in a fuse holder.

Also, use the multimeter's continuity test mode on the detachable power cord. Sometimes the problem lies there.
