Has anyone ever used one of the Non Lenovo Ultrabay Adapters? If so, how does it work in the W530? And which one?
TIA

Ultrabay Adapter
Re: Ultrabay Adapter
I don't have any W530 experience, it'll most likely work fine, but has a higher probability of being flaky in my experience.

Re: Ultrabay Adapter
I have used both a cheap eBay adapter and the original Lenovo adapter in the W530.
No issues reading and writing with both as they appear to work the same.
Fit and finish is better on the Lenovo.
In my experience if you get the cheap adapter look for one that has the locking tab and not the one that comes with screws to secure the drive in its bay.
There is a big difference in price. $10 as opposed to $60.

Re: Ultrabay Adapter
Brad, could you elaborate more on this point?
I'm considering getting such an adapter for T6x/X6x (Ultrabay Slim) as well as for X220 (Serial Ultrabay Slim).
What you wrote about the locking tab vs screws - does it apply to both variants?
I was browsing eBay by FRU (for the T6x) and saw many cheap knockoff ones that come with screws, and a few that were going for more $$$, but looked the same and apparently also came with screws.
Do all the original Lenovo ones come with locking tabs?
