<2.03>
- (Fix) Needs to enter BIOS supervisor password after BIOS update to 79ETC0WW/79ETC1WW
from 79ET67WW(or elder version), if the BIOS supervisor password is set at
BIOS update.
Note that this problem does not occur, once the system booted with BIOS
79ETC0WW or 79ETC1WW.

<2.04>
- (Fix) Disabled ATI PowerPlay feature on a model with an ATI M56/M66 graphics chip,
in order to fix M66 model intermittent Windows hang with battery operation.
Due to this change, a battery operation time on a model with an ATI M56/M66
graphics chip becomes shorter.

<2.05>
- (Fix) Enabled ATI PowerPlay feature on a model with an ATI M56/M66 graphics chip,
that was disabled in BIOS version 2.04. Then adjusted behavior of ATI PowerPlay
mode on ATI M66 graphics chip. According to this change, a battery operation
time of these models are improved.

<2.06>
- (Fix) Improved battery operation time of a model with an ATI M66 graphics chip.

<2.07>
- (New) (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 model only) Support for
video memory size up to 224MB.
(Hint) Video memory size is always shown as 224MB, however,
only required size by 3D software will be actually
allocated up to 224MB.
- (Fix) 1802 error may occur at power-on with some types of USB
device.

Its a X1700 series video card model. Perhaps something coming down the chain soon?

EDIT: It appears to be the V5250 used in Asia series T60's

So basically, unless you have integrated graphics, there is absolutely no point in upgrading from 2.03.

If the noise bothers you that much just set the fan setting to "balance all parameters" in the power manager settings.

not that much.
I am just wondering ,when the fan is running, why the noise from T60 is louder than my T42 even they are runing at same RPM.

The fan on my T60 (delivered 11/5) is so quiet I hardly notice it running, when it does.

Well...I'm guessing it's because this has an extra vent hole so the sound is better able to escape.

Alas, this bios does nothing for my T60/X1400 system. I upgraded the BIOS and got the latest ATI driver from the Lenovo system update. No matter what PowerPlay settings I choose, battery or plugged in, the GPU is still hanging around 65C when the system is idle. (Compare CPU at 48C, and a GPU that hits 80C when busy).

The GPU temperature doesn't concern me too much, and the fan doesn't bother me, so I'm not particularly disappointed. You do have to wonder what this means for battery life though.

GPU temps seem normal around 65C for a laptop. Perhaps if you aren't concerned with games, down clock the chip a bit? GPU core and memory speeds reduced a bit would lower power consumption as well as reduce heat.

Unless they made a bios update that downclocked the card, or made the fans go faster, the temps aren't going to lower.

On my T60 with X1400 and T7400 cpu, with the 9-cell the battery life is pretty insane. Doing everything I can to save power and just typing notes in word I can get around 6.5hours. Obviously various things can take it down from there, but that's still pretty good. (with wireless its like 5-5.5 hours depending on how much I'm surfing).

is anyone else seeing this behavior after updating to BIOS 2.07? my 2623D6U is showing this problem but my 2007 is fine:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYfDODdqkf0

I'm assuming the video card is bad. any thoughts?

Edit: I believe this problem was occuring before moving to 2.07 but I can't remember.

I have no problem on my 2613HKU with X1400.
You can try to call IBM to let them check it or downlevel ur BIOS. However, I do have problem on my screen, high pitch noise from the back of entire LCD screen. I got my LCD replaced on Wed, it didnt not work. So I believe should be something wrong with my mainboard.

sounds like your motherboard might not be grounded correctly.

Yea, my T60 as well as my roommates T60 (Core1Duo version) have that squeak problem. I think it has to do with the wireless, actually. Try switching your wireless off and see if the noise disappears.
