You need to check if they would work on US or other Non-UK networks.

How do we know if they will work with say, an X61t on Sprint or Verizon here?

A PDF refernece sheet for the cards shows this as being HSDPA. Doesnt sound like what Verizon/Sprint use with EV-DO.

may be able to work on ATT network, but someone would have to check that. If it works on the ATT network, it will work on the Tmobile netowkr also. They both use HSDPA.

Unfortunately MC8755 is European version which only supports 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA, so even though it will work on North American 2G networks (only 216kbps max.), it won't connect to the 3G networks, which operate on 850/1900MHz. That's what MC8765 was for.
Later came MC8775 supporting all three frequencies...

Also MC8755 will work without BIOS patch in *60 series, not sure by heart about *61 (think not) and definitely won't in X300.

Specsheet.

Zend knows much more about wwan. Great!
I do have unlocked MC8765 cards as welll. Coz I am UK based, i am not sure if any body wants it.

I have done the test MC8755 with *61. It doesnt work at all.
I will get MC8775 cards very soon. But the cost will be much higher than MC8755.

MC8775 will be much more popular.

:D

The only 3G/GSM card whitelisted in X61s BIOS is Lenovo-branded MC8775, which is rumoured to support 7.2Mbps through firmware update, but no such update exists, so you can't have 7,2Mbps (and 2,0Mbps HSUPA upload) out of the box. You'd need to patch BIOS.

Sorry, MC8775 and MC8780 are sold out now, only MC8755 cards left. MC8755 suits thinkpad 60 not for 61

I would like to thank jagine for working with me to resolve issues of bought MC8755 card - very nice experience!

netrider: I'm not sure what you're after, but MC8755 can work with your machine - alas only at max. 1.8Mbps/384kbps - if you patch your BIOS.
If you are strictly against BIOS patching, you need to search for and only for Lenovo-branded MC8775. That card supports 3.6Mbps/384kbps.
But you already have UMTS in your signature?

Right, I got one, but it was an not original Lenovo card with patched bios and it broke down. Actually I am using a PCMCIA Card, but that is not the solution I want to.

Does anybody know if the Sierra MC8755 card works on the X200s? Does it have GPS?

It seems that the Gobi 1000/2000 and Ericsson F3507g cards are an option on the X200, but I am not sure if other cards will work with the X200/X200s BIOS.

Also, are any of these cards better than the others (GPS as well as WWAN performance/reliability)?

I need an answer in a hurry! Thanks.
