R52 success with Windows 7

#1 Post by JaYp146 » Sun May 03, 2009 7:13 pm

Just wanted to report in and say that Win 7 runs beautifully on my R52. Specs are as follows:

1.83 Ghz Pentium M
1GB DDR2
80GB Fujitsu 5400 RPM
Intel Pro 2915ABG chipset
X300 mobility

Installed Vista 32bit drivers and everything's running flawlessly. Even runs TF2 on low settings @ 1024x768!

Yep, that's no surprise. My R52 even ran bloated old Vista Ok, and Windows 7 beta worked very well for me, as well.

I don't care at all for Media Center, and it's an easy matter to remove it using "Remove Windows Components" in Add Remove programs. Nice that it is so easy to ditch things we don't necessarily want in Windows 7.

Looks like Microsoft has cobbled up a pretty good product at last!
