High Definition Audio Driver on Lenovo 3000 N200 Win XP SP3

#1 Post by Val_001 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 5:36 am

Hi.
I have Lenovo 3000 N200 with webcam and I installed Windows XP SP3. All the drivers installed OK, but I have exclamation mark on High Definition Audio in my Device Manager (though I have sound). I ran the audio RealTek driver 68ar04ww.exe but it didn't fix the problem.
How to install it?
Help very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Could you post your model type? It should be seven alphanumeric digits long.

ex. 1860-Y1T

on the bottom of your laptop.

Do you have your Thinkvantage System Updates program working fine?

I enter your model type into the Lenovo support and downloads page and I see two different audio drivers.

Here is the link:

Lenovo 3000 N200 XP Drivers

I was asking if you have the system update working because it may be easier to find an answer that way.

I have to ask if you tried updating the driver through the device manager? Simply downloading that Realtek exe from the Lenovo site and double clicking on it will not install the drivers! All the exe does is extract the necessary files to your hard drive. You have to go through device manager in admin status and update the driver that way.

Unfortunately it didnt work((.
I downloaded kb888111xp2en.exe fix for XP SP 2 but it says I got SP 3 so it doesnt want to install. I installed (extracted to directory and went to the directory and ran Setup of the driver -not just ran setup of selfextractin archive) Real Tech driver but nothing seem to help: I got exclamation mark nontheless((.
I have Windows Updates turned on.
So far I tried to install:

kb888111xp2en.exe
68ar04ww
65au07ww
63ar14ww uuu

but of no avail (((

Thanks for help anyway)).

Thought I gave up??? :D

Okay. Do me a favor and go to your Device Manager and click on the device that is giving you the yellow exclamation mark.

That should bring up its properties. Click on the details tab and give me the code that appears for Device Instance ID and post it here.

From what I'm gathering. It could be a driver for a High Definiton Audio Modem. Hmmm... are you pretty good with installing and uninstalling drivers?

The VEN part of that string of alphanumeric code you posted is for an Agere vendor. The DEV id is what I'm not too sure about.

The only thing I see on the drivers download for your machine type using XP and an Agere product is a High Definition Audio Modem driver.

That may or may not be it. If you want give it a try.

Agere High Definition Audio Modem

Good luck!
