Hey all,

I recently bought a faulty SL300 off eBay to replace some faulty parts on my current SL300, this worked great, however, I'm now wondering if I can repair the broken one.

It has a faulty backlight which means that everything works perfectly fine, but the screen is very, very dim. You can only just make out what's there. Now, I've changed the monitors between both my SL300's (and I'm led to think the backlight is attached to the bottom of the screen) and its clear its not a screen problem. I've read that it could be a inverter problem, however, I don't know where this is and the SL300 manual doesn't seem to help.

Any suggestions on some things I can try to get this backlight working again? I wish it was as easy as my Thinkpad 240, the backlight is a single replaceable component on that!

Cheers

If you hit the training and support site to watch the video for the SL300 LCD disassemble, it looks like the inverter kind of sits below and behind the LCD.
