For sale is Intel X18-M G2 160 GB.

This is 1.8 inch model. I also have Lenovo 1.8 to 2.5 adapter as well.

I have used it in my T400s from last August. Very fast and reliable.

$250 OBO (add $20 for the 2.5 inch adapter)

Is this drive, and the associated Lenovo 1.8" to 2.5" SATA storage converter, still available?

If yes, what specific Lenovo storage converter are we talking about here; 42W7888 or 42W8019?

By the way, can anyone confirm - preferably from actual experience - that both of these Lenovo 1.8" to 2.5" SATA storage converters actually contains a 5V-to-3.3V voltage conversion circuitry? Reason for asking is that e.g. this thread claim:
Quote:
...but based on what other users wrote in the Lenovo forums, 1.8"-2.5" storage converters from Lenovo (42W7888 / 42W8019) don't have any on-board voltage conversion.

I obviously wouldn't want to put an Intel X18-M (which runs at 3.3 V) in a storage converter that does not step down the 5 V input to the 3.3 V required!

Thanks inadvance for any feedback... :-)

Johan

It seems that at least the 42W8019 supplies this 3.3V.
