I mentioned a couple of problems with my T60 (unexpected system freeze) and after
some diagnostics the verdict is that I am in a need of a new motherboard. I found a local salesman
who claims that he worked as an IBM repair technician and is in a possession of a new ("AS NEW")
motherboard that he bought on ebay. The board that is inside my laptop is not it's original one, but an
other one, also bought on ebay, and is not working properly so I am a bit sceptical about this deal.
The seller claims that the board is in working condition, and gives me a 2 week warranty.
My T60 has this marks on itself:
TYPE 1951-CTO S/N L3-FBV16 07/02
PRODUCT ID: 1951Y1U
This is what it says in BIOS:
System-unit serial number 2007AY6L3M1672
System board serial number VF05B65T20XThe board that is inside my laptop is not it's original board, but, another one, also from ebay,
and is not working properly.
This is the auction that I won:http://www.licido.com/MATICNA-PLOCA-ZA- ... on_detailsIBM P/N 42T0157, 14"
My question is: Is this new board compatible with my laptop and does this deal seems shady, I don't want to waste
any more money on "lemons"?
