 Post subject: R51 Blank Screen--Cant Boot Up

my r51 machine used to be nt functional few days ago....when i try to boot it up,only battery icon light up,cpu fan does operate.....
i tried removing both ram under keyboard & bottom of the machine,reinsert them...but still no sign....
just now my laptop finally boots up,bt i only managed to use about 20 mins,then suddenly it went blackout..still,only battery icon lights up..
now i hv trouble booting up the machine...any guides here?

Have you tried pushing down on the lower keyboard and/or touchpad area while booting? I've seen similar symptoms on T4x and R5x machines that have a loose GPU. If this lets the machine boot, you'll have identified the problem.

thx for the reply~~will try it later~~btw,could it be cmos battery?
coz i saw a similar post,and its solution is by removing cmos battery and reinsert it...

Not likely at all.

Has your LCD been reddish/pinkish on initial boot prior to this last episode?

there were few times where d screen is greyish.....what symptom is that?my r51 still cant boot..

it sounds like your gpu's taking a dive, or maybe a cpu overheat because of fan not working.
Either way it looks like a bad motherboard. Thankfully I've been looking at ebay, and they seem to have had a significant price drop in the past year or so.

You don't seem to be the most tech oriented in the world, but good thing is there are many guides to disassemble them online.

i've disassembled my machine,&thanks to posts from other forum i managed to pinpoint the source of the problem....btw,it was the gpu issue,i just keep pressing the gpu when booting up the machine,luckily it did boot up!& now it's okay ever since~
