i5-560 does not exist AFAIK
i5-560M (35W) is for standard laptops <== most likely T50
i5-560UM (18W, low-voltage) is for ultrabooks/laptops

Correct. I did a quick search and realized that it indeed needs to be the M. This one, apparently: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core ... 087.0.html. Faster than a 9900, it says, and integrated graphics that probably are "ok". As long as it can do full screen NetFlix and DVD, it is sufficient for me, anyway.

Yes, it's i5-560M.
last year i bought a second-hand t43 .becouse the southbridge problem it can’t power-on ,but a good product fineness. When the T50 motherboard start selling I get it and CPU, memory,hard-driver and blue-x 9's battery. The dream come ture.
Only one little problem is my T50 can't find LAN device ,other guy's T50 is normal. so I use the usb lan and wireless.
Except the Lan problem,my t50 is very reliable, never down, so my X201 retired,T50 become the partner of my work. Tomorrow i will take some tset pictures and sharing them..

The i5-560M will also be pretty good bang for buck, as long as prices aren't far off in Norway as they are here. I've also seen some screenshots of 51nb members who have an i7-620M, which would also be a reasonable option.
I posted a list of CPUs that should work awhile back... here it is:
i5-520M
i5-540M
i5-560M
i5-580M
i7-620M

Sounds like a small production glitch... good you were still able to get LAN working on your T50. And also good to hear your wireless(PCI-E slot) works perfectly and you've been apparently using it.Only one little problem is my T50 can't find LAN device ,other guy's T50 is normal. so I use the usb lan and wireless.
This is absolutely brilliant news! Great to hear it's possible for a T50 board customer to be able to use their T50 with such confidence, and it hasn't failed you. It's been really hard for me to think that a mod board as obviously farfetched(unusual) as this one would be this dependable.Except the Lan problem,my t50 is very reliable, never down, so my X201 retired,T50 become the partner of my work.
We would absolutely love to see that. A lot of us have waited to hear any news about this board, so you must understand our excitement on this topic.Tomorrow i will take some tset pictures and sharing them..

Mobo is short for motherboard.
Your T50 looks in excellent shape, with a nice UXGA screen (and missing SVGA-Out)!

Yes. Looks nice. You are running the same CPU as in the T510 I bought because my T42p can't keep up with what I needed! Would sure like to go back to my T42p screen with the same hardware specs as the T510 (8 GB RAM and an SSD). I really do not like the 1920x1080 FHD screen at all compared to the 1600x1200 flexview. It may have excellent color rendition but the viewing angle is terrible!zgxzkr wrote:There are some pictures of my T50.

I forget now if these use the original T4x fan and heatsink or do you need to modify that as well?
Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
No SVGA-Out, it seems like most people didn't use this interface. this place is the reserved interface of "HDMI".you should DIY ,weld the interface.RealBlackStuff wrote:Mobo is short for motherboard.

Any way, it can't use the PCMCIA card. the place of PCMCIA is a sd-card reader and hard to use ....

As I know , T4X fan and heatsink no need to modify.
The first block mobos had to modify the heatsink. Then HOPE improve the mobo and adapt the heatsink and fan with out modify //

Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
The T42p/T43p do not have FHD screens.
There were 15" SXGA+ (1400x1050) (TN or IPS-Flexview) and UXGA (1600x1200) (IPS-Flexview only).
And the R50p also had a 15" QXGA (2048x1536) screen. Don't think that was also IPS.

Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
Sorry for the confusion as I know English isn't your native language. The FHD (1920x1080) is in the T510. My T42p has the 1600x1200, which I much prefer to the FHD because of the viewing angle. I do like the brightness of the FHD though. I've had to turn it down to 12 (of 15 steps). Even with a new CCFL, my 1600x1200 is not even close to being as bright as these newer LED screens.zgxzkr wrote:Your t42p is 15inch's FHD? awsome!!!

Those are some pretty awesome pictures, thanks so much for sharing them!
It's possible to just solder on an HDMI port to the board, to enable the functionality? I thought since they removed it from the very early prototypes I saw, the functionality would be removed altogether from the board.

That's pretty neat. A lot of us were worried you had to do some raising on the CPU plate or something silly to get it on there. The first block mobos had to modify the heatsink. Then HOPE improve the mobo and adapt the heatsink and fan with out modify //

None of the posted pics showed the audio chip, but it's highly unlikely that it's the same Analog Devices chip, because it's an AC97 device. What sound chip does the T50 board use? The same Analog Devices as the T40?
All audio chips these days follow Intel Azalia HD Audio spec.

I like Realtek. And yes... Analog Devices is better, but there are so many chips that are worse than Realtek.but somewhat disappointing though since Realtek sucks compared to Analog Devices.
And from what I read, ajkula66 seems to be volunteering to test out that T50. Which is amazing news all round.

Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
This all sounds... pretty cool. However I'm hoping they do something for the Tablet users as well as the laptop users. All I use is the X6x Tablet, I've never found a good reason for me to use the laptop, so if they make a Sandy Bridge motherboard for the X6x laptop, and leave out Tablet capabilities, I'd be kinda sad face.
Although regardless... I'd be interested in what they'd do about the CPU/GPU. With the full-sized laptop, they'd have the freedom of the much higher thermal ceiling, and bigger profile to put socketed CPUs in, so you can have, say... an i5-2520M with the HD 3000 graphics. If they wanted to incorporate Tablet capabilities, they'd probably have to switch to the lower-power CPUs, but they still have the HD 3000. That's another thing, the newer Intel HD gfx on Sandy Bridge is far better than first-gen Intel HD in my opinion.

Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
As much as I'm excited about the planned X62, IMO its biggest limitation is the XGA resolution screen, unless an 12.1 SXGA/SXGA+ panel exists that doesn't require modifications to the frame and LCD cable.
Targeting the X6x Tablet sounds like a good idea as it paves the way for an SXGA screen, but perhaps the problem is getting the Wacom digitizer to work.

Very interested in the X62. I'd probably try to do the SXGA+ mod which wasn't as interesting to me with the old motherboard.
If it uses a normal mobile Sandy Bridge it will probably be on-par with a low-power new model next year (since manufacturers seem to have stopped using full-power mobile CPUs in ultraportables).
One of the things that stopped me from getting an new X-series or equivalent is that they don't seem significantly better than my old X201 with i7-620M.

Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
A sandy bridge X61 would pretty much be a dream machine. Hopefully the new motherboard would run the LCD at 60Hz too, not the 50Hz the X61 is used to.
Re: 51nb.com released T50 (= new mobo for T4x's) in Shenzhen
Is it still able to purchase one of these? I really want one for a T41p and only just found out.
1x R500 (P8600), R61e [T9300], X61 (T7300) - RIP T420 (replaced by HP Z420 workstation)
