Has Anyone Determined the T400/T500 Audio Recording Specs?

#1 Post by eecon » Fri Aug 01, 2008 6:28 pm

Will the ability to record from various sources using Stereo Mix or "What-U-Hear" (like the good old T42/T43 units) remain crippled like on the T61 series?

More details here:

Sorry to sound smart-butt, but since I doubt Lenovo will put "crippled audio" in their marketing, we will probably have to wait until actual units surface.

I don't know if it's listed in the spec sheets; evidently I'm not the only one who's not read them.

Why not first read through the thread I linked above before flaming?

Also, you might try reading the official Lenovo Community Forum thread where Lenovo's forum rep confirms that the T and X 61 units have indeed been intentially audio recording crippled at the hardware level:

http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/mess ... ead.id=316

Bottom line ...... Lenovo crippled the X61/T61 units without specifying that change in any of their specs last year.

I know they crippled the *61s. (Pretty hard to miss this information given all of your posts on this board.) Nobody knows about the *00s. Sorry if you misunderstood my comment and took it for trolling.

As a side note, the forum rules require that you specify the city in which you are currently located, as opposed to the general area. See http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=63962.

Are you an RIAA lawyer contempating litigation and trying to find me or something?

My RV (my new home as of last month) travels continuously up and down the West Coast, USA.

Yes, of course. Who was it that mentioned something about flaming, again?

As with the polls, we're not going to have multiple threads about this subject. I don't have the ability to join this to the existing ones, so it's getting locked.
