Tracknav middle button and Firefox
Tracknav middle button and Firefox
It seems that the horizontal scroll feature of the middle button of the tracknav doesn't work correctly in firefox on my T42p,
I tried it on IE and it works fine.
Is there some fix? I would guess it would have to be a Firefox extension.
Thanks.

I think that this problem is more of a problem with compatibility, IE is very much integrated into Windows, Firefox in the other hand is another program and probably uses some other mechanisms to generate scrolling.
Atleast I presume the problem lies in programming of Trackpoint scrolling.

For Opera there is following hack:
In the "Pass 0 rules" section of (either) %SYSTEM_ROOT%\System32\tp4table.dat or %SYSTEM_ROOT%\System32\tp4scrol.dat, add:
*,*,opera.exe,*,*,*,WheelStd,0,9
then reboot. (On some systems the tp4table.dat file may be in other locations, such as "\programs files\synaptics\synTP\")
Perhaps this works also for Firefox? Never tried it.

Tried it and, sadly, it doesn't work...

Maybe it doesn't work because it's set to "scroll" by default?
Try going into Mouse Properties, Ultranav, Trackpoint settings, and choose "Neither" under "Choose Scrolling or Magnifying Glass Function." This should set your middle ultranav to the default middle-click button, and at least for me allows both horizontal and vertical scrolling in Firefox.

As I mentioned before, the solution lies in the programming firefox's scrolling mechanism and the incompadibility between trackpoint's scrolling programming.
The normal middle click produces the scroll-circle, which works totally different from trackpoint's mechanism, using the middle click you cannot scroll inside Explorer (folders) or anywhere else that is not programmed to use middle-clicks.
