mainly you have to apply pressure upwards IE keyboard towards the LCD.. the on/off area is an area where you can apply pressure without pushing on keys. Pushing on the keys would risk popping one off. the trick is to apply enough pressure on the keyboard towards the LCD so you can release the notche...

t43p motherboard
Hi all, just wondering if you could help me find the proper part # for a T43p 14.1 inch motherboard with 128MB GPU? I looked it up and think it's 39T0477 but I'm not sure because I don't have a specific list of the model numbers that the T43p's were. edit: also I have been reading leaded boards are ...

power up issue, intermittent problem
Hi all, I am having intermittent problems starting up and can't really pin down the problem. Either when I shutdown or hibernate my T43, it won't restart. Not unless I fiddle with the power supply in and out of the port on the laptop, and a combination of taking in and out the battery as well. Could...

palmrest stickers
Is there a way to find out how and maybe what part number the stickers on a palmrest of a T43 to get replaced?
I know there are those who think it's better without, but I prefer to have them.
Specifically the Pentium M, ATi and maybe the Windoze sticker.
thanks!

Just curious, how come when I try to use the settings in this thread, I can't even get close to the voltages everyone else is getting solid performance from. currently I am using a Sonoma, 1.86MHz 750 processor with NHC 2.0. I am using the minimum voltages that are outlined in the spec sheet ie: 6x ...

NHC and "Acoustic Managment" on quiet
Hi all,
is there a disadvantage to using the Acoustic Managment feature in NHC and setting it to the lowest setting for HD noise?
I put it on 128 default, but is there an advantage to having it noisy? arm speed faster?
TIA

I had this happen to me as well, in the same place. just right at the junction where the palmrest and the hard drive cover edge to the corner of the keyboard. it just broke on the palmrest part, leaving the corner portion where the screw holds that side, thus allowing you to lift the whole upper rig...

my original reader has black on the outline, but the paint does come off... i replaced the palmrest due to a hairline crack which developed, and the new one had it all silver no paint. no biggie, I actually could've switched the reader from the old one into the new palmrest, if i really wanted the b...

it might be tricky just to replace the tab. I just recently replaced the base assembly on my t43, if you want to get to the tabs, you'll have to lift the motherboard off the chassis, which means you'll have to pretty much disassemble the T43 as if you were replacing the base assy. :( edit: I tried t...

yes, I'm looking at the schematics and it is the base assy that I have to replace. Along with the stickers I'm gonna have to transfer with it... ugh. you are quite right about the ESD awareness, I will be careful of that, don't wanna fry the motherboard for a stupid reason. thanks for the link :) I'...

T4x housing replacement
Hi All, I am thinking of replacing the housing on my 14.1 T43 ... got a crack in the palmrest(easy fix 91p8684), but the doozy is the USB port area, the plastic in the middle has broken off, and there is a crack. Is the replacement of the base cover assembly( 26R8414) a doable replacement? I'm prett...
