Re: My Tesla Model 3 story (very long)

ironically timed due to the 5% lowering of the prices across the board... and the introduction of the std range $35,000 model.... and the announcment of closure of all showrooms.... and then walking a lot of this back with "only" a 3% drop with that 2% moved into not closing all showrooms. These entities are responsible for millions of deaths trillions of dollars wasted and the continued suffer...

Re: POLL: What's your favorite resolution for desktop monitors?

Are we still talking desktop monitors like the title says or TV displays? That's why I didnt mention 4k60 or HDR or anything that is actually interesting...

I would love to see a 24-27" LCD w/ 4k 60 HDR but these really arent moving on PCs.

Except for stuff like Gsync and Freesync and super high res., monitors have kind of stagnated given that demand for desktop PCs hasnt really grown?

Re: POLL: What's your favorite resolution for desktop monitors?

One of the first expensive monitors I bought was the Dell 2405... funny story... the first LCD monitor I ever paid for was a HP 15" back in 2002 or 03? This was when these were several hundred. They were excess merchandise... ie. buy 5 x HP rack servers get a free monitor. Anyway... I wasnt too impr...

Re: T510 Why so many refurbished on market

I consulted at many businesses that kept even T61s T400s as test bench machines and the like... Many businesses didnt even buy desktops any more... older laptops worked fine as desktops with an lcd kbd mouse. However even so, a 1st gen machine is basically worthless. I think 3 or 4yrs ago I bought a...

Re: Fundamental differences between T420 and T430?

I moved onto a Dell e6430 over my old T420/420s... the architecture is a major move up in speed power reduction etc. Saying that I feel like the T430 is still a tad more expensive on the 2nd hand market than the 420 family. I can never accept the new chiclet layout and I'm ok with Dell's kbd format....

There's always going to be alleged professionals who hurt themselves or their fellow employees or their family with their guns.

Who remembers the DEA agent who was in a classroom and stated he was the only one 'professional' enough to handle a Glock 22.

Then promptly shot himself in the leg.

I think many people look at the question of gun control thru their own lense. I'm a reasonably competant person with no criminal record, no mental issues and generally stable life. So I feel like I should be ok to own a gun. But the flip side is that there's a lot of people a lot less responsible th...

You cant blame news for covering when 11 people get shot in a church vs. what *may* have been prevented when someone kills an assailant. Out of the units I have, I have only see brittle plastics on my x300 and my t400s, especially bezels or wherever is thin.

Everything else is solid. Maybe they used a different composition on the lightweight units.

Yeah there's two different mindsets... eg. I love the T40-43 series however a single core laptop with say 2gb and whatever ancient Intel GFX is not a usable machine to me in any o/s given today's workload. HOwever if you want to put a machine on a pedestal and run a 'period' o/s as a collector then ...

The A31 is slightly before my time... I feel that being a P4M machine it'll be overlooked by many and further, with the reputation at the time, many would have ended up in landfill in China. I went from the T20/23 straight to the T40/43. I'm quite fond of the T40 class but I also have a HP Business ...
