Re: T440p screen not working

Working on sourcing the fuse so I can get this fixed up sometime soon. Is this a difficult one to do? I've never done a piggyback before and my soldering skills are just ok.

T440p screen not working

In my haste while upgrading another T440p I have, I did not remove the battery from the system I was working on. I wanted to remove the FHD screen from that to test out the other T440p. Now when I power the original system on, I get no video but I do get normal beeps when I hit F1 to enter the BIOS....

Re: Weird problem with T400

Took out everything I could, used known good pieces (ram and monitor) and still nothing. :( I’m stumped here, after replacing everything. Does anyone remember if there is a process to force a BIOS flash reboot from this state? I seem to remember some kind of process where booting from a floppy could...

Weird problem with T400

I went on vacation and came back to a dead T400. No lights, no power, nothing. Tried numerous resets and power drains to clear things out. Still nothing. I did replace the motherboard and had things working for a day or so, but my LCD was also dead. I noticed the new motherboard had a really old BIO...

WTB: T400 Recovery discs (Type 6474)

I'm looking for a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit recovery set for a 6474 machine type with Intel graphics. I had a set of these that I've searched high and low for and cannot locate. Does anyone have a set they would be willing to sell to me?

Thanks in advance!!

FS: 14" T4x Palmrest with Fingerprint Reader

I have a palmrest with the Fingerprint reader in it for sale. I purchased this for an upgrade to a system I had, but I ended up selling the system before I was able to install this part. I did put it in another system to verify the functionality and it works just fine. It is perfect cosmetically as ...

Annoying issue with T400 Fingerprint reader

So I purchased a system at the last Lenovo Warehouse sale. It's been a great system so far, but the one annoying problem I've had with it is really getting to be bothersome. If I am running on battery, the problem isn't there. But if the system is plugged in before I boot, the fingerprint reader wil...

FS: T42/T43 Palmrest with Fingerprint

I had gotten this a couple of years ago, but neglected to do my homework completely beforehand. It was for my wife's T42, but it would not work with the particular motherboard in the system. I did try it on another system and it works just fine. The FRU is 26R7851, so please feel free to look it up ...

LF: Someone to do a reflow on T42 motherboard

I recently received a system from a customer that needs to be reflowed. It has the exact same problem as another board that I had which is how I knew. Can anyone here do this for me? If so, do you have references, etc. ? I need a fast turnaround on this (i.e. 1 week or less), as this system needs to ...

Re: Well priced Atheros cards 17.50 Shipped US EBAY link

I ordered 2 of these cards from the seller. They both seem to be working just fine so far. I had some issues with the Windows drivers initially, but once I got those ironed out everything has been fine. Ubuntu on the other hand does not appear to like these cards on a fresh load. It appears some cha...

So one of my wife's employee's recently kicked over a glass of orange juice, not directly onto the T42 system that we set her up with. It was splattered pretty well all over it. The kicker here is that it ran for several hours and then just shut off at some point when she was using it. She di...

I've figured out the issue with the software, at least in my case. Apparently, there is now an extra checkbox that must be filled in order for the Single Sign-On to work properly. New 5.8 fingerprint software not working on T43p

Has anyone tried this new version? I had the 5.6 version on my system and it worked perfectly. Single Sign-on even worked. After updating to the latest when I was prompted by System Update, Single Sign-on no longer works. Instead, it stops at the Welcome screen. Same behavior coming out of hibernate...

The passwords do not reside in the security chip. All the chip does is provide the base encryption algorithm for the system, which is what CSS & Password Manager uses to encrypt them. My guess is that when you moved the drive to the T43p, the system regenerated the keys that tied that hard drive to ...

They got rid of File & Folder encryption a long while back. I worked on CSS when it had that functionality and it caused more problems for more customers.
