@CHoPSTICK89 http://rapidshare.com/ http://www.megaupload.com/ But if you want to just try non-IBM drivers, try the Omega drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/ http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A3TZUB8L Brings back the 60hz option. Maybe that is the key. @Sparta.rising I don't see omegadrivers for intel ...

I think its the video drivers. I googled some old video drivers and it hasn't happened since. I want to post it but can;t find a way to attach it.

Anybody have some more recent drivers?

Got it back. The tech's told me it was a battery problem. I'm not so sure about that.

Did anyone manage to nab the old video drivers so I could test it out?

Yeah, standby does fix it also. I hope its a driver problem, but I also don't have the older drivers. :(

Sent it in to warranty. I'll let you know what happens

LCD Flickers off

I have a 2.5 yr old X60s and lately on battery my LCD will flicker (maybe once every 30 mins) and occasionally it will turn off entirely and only a reboot will turn it back on.

Anyone have experience with this?

Would you say LCD or battery problem?

Re: Forum members with X60s with Ultralight screen

I have been offered to buy an X60s with Ultralight screen for a very reasonable price. When I do the part look-up using the model number and serial number, Lenovo's web page indeed says that the system contains the Ultralight screen (FRU 13N7092). However, when I compare it to the Ultralight screen...

Where to buy 3rd Party Batteries?

Is there anyone who has had good results with 3rd party batteries?

Also, for the 8 cell battery, is it compatible with the X60/X60s/X61/X61s?

Thanks,
Kevin

I was able to upgrade my X60 HDD firmware without any optical drive at all, by using a USB memory stick. I had to unpack the Lenovo ISO and make some changes to it (it basically sets up a RAMdrive, loads up a DOS-mode CDROM driver (MSCDEX) and copies the files to the RAMdrive before executing them....

I know you said you don't feel comfortable cleaning it yourself. The fans are exposed once you remove the keyboard. 3-4 screws and you should be able to remove the keyboard and see it. All you need is a can of air and it should clean up real nice. Just a suggestion.

im not sure i quite understand the question. You can't get identical displays on the laptop and external monitor without it being blurry because the external monitor is supposed to run natively at 1650x1050. You can only run it at extended to get it to stay sharp. The problem is that your laptop can...

I don't have the Lenovo case, but I can recommend the Waterfield bags from www.sfbags.com. Even if you get the Lenovo case, consider the Waterfield sleeve. I have it for my X60s (w/ 8 cell) and it is outstanding. No, I don't work for them <grin>. It even came with a hand-written thank-you note from...

According to the following thread, you have to go back a couple of video driver revisions. If you want the original video driver, the setup program should be located on your hard drive. On my T42 it is located at C:\IBMTOOLS\drivers\VIDEO. I am not sure if Lenovo still uses the same directories, bu...

Just to update, I tried to update last night via USB external dvd drive and it won't work. Its true how it says you need an optical drive built-in. It tells me that it can't find my optical drive. I have the HD model which has the update but I guess it won't work for the X60 series. :x

It is discussing usage of the firmware update disk itself and not the end result of the firmware update process. In other words, when you create the firmware update boot disk, you can not/ should not try to use THAT DISK to update the drives firmware from any drive (USB, PCMCIA etc etc) aside from ...

Anybody updated their Harddrive Firmware?

It seems like it says that we can't use a USB optical drive. Can anyone confirm this? It doesn't seem to make sense to have this restriction on an X60 series.
