Intel Wireless-AC 7260 on X220T, Bluetooth Possible?
I just purchased the 7260 and tried to install it in my X220T that did not come with native Bluetooth, but met with several challenges. Placing it in the half-height slot, I could get Wi-Fi working but not Bluetooth (not even detected by the system). Placing it in the full-height slot, Bluetooth wor...

Re: Vanity Post: Resurrecting a Thinkpad X61s *PICS*
I'm not typically a fan of laptop skins either, but I do have to admit that the faux leather one the OP chose does look rather nice. Thanks! Unfortunately, my relatively short journey with the X61s has come to an end. My father required a laptop for work so I passed the X61s to him. On the bright s...

Did you also install the Middleton BIOS so the Broadcom BCM970015 HD Crystal Hardware Decoder for 1080i Apple TV would work? I ask because my X61s as a password protected BIOS which I cannot access, but I would dearly love to install this video card! I installed the Middleton BIOS prior to the Broa...

Re: Vanity Post: Resurrecting a Thinkpad X61s *PICS*
Getting a working Thinkpad for free is certainly a nice gift. :D Though I'm not a fan of laptop skins, I have to admit that the faux-leather skin looks good on it. I think it's because it retains the business-like demeanor of the Thinkpad. Very nice work. :) Thanks for the compliment. Was kinda wor...

http://i.imgur.com/oHbp8fkl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pBYvcWel.jpg For the past few years, my primary machine at home has been a 2010 11” MacBook Air which has served me pretty well for light browsing, multimedia and even some light programming in Objective-C and Java. However, I recently picked up AS...

Thanks RRHODY, but the original battery did not come with a spacer and did not leave a gap too.

X61s with Extended Battery - missing accessory? *PICS*
Just inherited a X61s and purchased an extended battery because the original 4-cell no longer holds a charge. Even though the extended battery works as expected, it leaves a gap at the battery compartment of the X61s and the laptop is now unstable because the extended battery only comes with 1 rubbe...

Replacing X31 System Board
Hi, My 3 year old X31 is finally showing signs of aging. It's currently showing symptoms such as freezing whenever I move it by the slightest bit. I am rather sure that it's a system board problem and not the hard disk since the problem persisted when I replaced the hard disk with another one. Since...

No Aero, the Radeon Mobility 16mb doesn't support it. But I've never been a fan of fancy UI to begin with. Even on XP, I used the Windows Classic desktop theme. I'm not sure if Windows Media Center would work since I'm using Vista Business edition. However, 1.5gb RAM on my X31 does make Vista feel r...

Thanks boon for pointing out access connections 4.31. Are you using X31 as well? If you are, are you able to get System Update running? Or do you have On Screen Display for volume, brightness, etc? Edit: Installing Access Connections and a couple of other system updates that came with it enabled the...

X31 and Windows Vista
Hi, I took the plunge and installed Windows Vista Business edition on my X31. Vista seems to have detected all my hardware and everything was usable on first boot. However, I'm missing certain Thinkpad only software and features such as Access Connections, On-screen Display for HotKeys, etc. I tried...

In case anyone else is interested, OSX 10.4.4 works well on my 2yo X31 - Pentium M 1.5ghz, 768mb RAM, SoundMAX integrated audio, Atheros Wireless, Intel 100/10 VE, ATI Mobility Radeon M6. It did take some effort, especially with the drivers for sound, ethernet and wireless but it all works perfectly...
